1979 Fred Lindstrom Single-Signed Ball
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,080
Official National League (Feeney) ball signed by Hall of Fame infielder/outfielder Fred Lindstrom across the sweet spot. Lindstrom has scripted his name in black ink, with the signature grading "7/8." Lindstrom retired in 1936 but wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame until 1976. That, plus the fact that he died in 1981, which only gave collectors a short five-year window to obtain his signature, has led to the scarcity of Lindstrom single-signed balls today. This ball dates precisely to 1979 (four dots under the Haiti stamp allows this precise dating), meaning it was signed by Lindstrom within the last two years of his life. The ball displays light scattered age toning and has been coated with a thin layer of protective shellac. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,080
