Marvin Miller Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $540

Official National League (Coleman) ball signed in black ink (grading "9/10") across the sweet spot by Marvin Miller (1917-2012), longtime executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. Miller turned the players' union into one of the strongest unions in the country, and it was under the time of his leadership that the union successfully negotiated for both salary arbitration and free agency. Because the balance of power between the players and the owners transformed so dramatically during his tenure, many regard Miller as one of the most important figures in baseball history and worthy of induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The ball displays light scattered age toning and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $540
