1963 New York Yankees American League Champions Team-Signed Ball with Mantle and Maris
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,680
Official American League (Cronin) ball signed in blue ink by the following thirty members of the 1963 American League Champion New York Yankees: Mantle (sweet spot), Berra (sweet spot), Maris (on ball label), Ford, Sain (coach), Linz, Bridges, Lopez, Bouton, Reed, Daley, Hegan (coach), Williams, Murray (batting-practice pitcher), Boyer, Hamilton, Kubek, Metcalf, Howard, Kunkel, Richardson, Downing, Houk (Mgr.), Pepitone, Stafford, Terry, Tresh, Bright, Blanchard, and Reniff. Signatures range from "7" to "10," averaging "8/9." The manufacturer's stampings are light (but legible); otherwise the ball remains in Near Mint condition. This is an outstanding early 1960s New York Yankees team ball and one that is all the more notable for the fact that it does not have any "clubhouse" signatures, a practice especially common for both Mantle and Maris during this era. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,680
