1957 New York Yankees American League Champions Team-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,440

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-two members of the 1957 American League Champion New York Yankees: Mantle (sweet spot), Berra (sweet spot), Stengel (Mgr,), Ford, Slaughter, Howard, Cicotte, Shantz, Larsen, Johnson, Crosetti (coach), Ditmar, Grim, Byrne, Bauer, Collins, Turner (coach), Carey, Sturdivant, Keller (coach), Simpson, and McDougald. Signatures range from "7" to "10," averaging "9." There is a tiny area of light discoloration on the sweet spot (not affecting any signatures); otherwise the ball remains in Near Mint condition. This is an outstanding high-grade 1950s Yankees team ball and one that is all the more notable for the fact that it does not have any "clubhouse" signatures, which was especially common for Mantle during this era. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,440
