Al Simmons Signed Hall of Fame Black-and-White Postcard - PSA/DNA

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,400

Hall of Fame black-and-white plaque postcard (Artvue) signed in black fountain pen (grading "8") along the base by Al Simmons. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with the signature certified as "Authentic." Simmons is one of the more elusive signatures and a key rarity among signed black-and-white Hall of Fame postcards, which has long been one of the most popular areas of Hall of Fame autograph collecting. In fact, this is the first example we have ever offered in over thirty years and we cannot recall having seen more than just a few others over the years. The card (3.5 x 5.5 inches) displays light discoloration and minor creasing at each corner (both front and reverse) from having once been mounted in an album by means of photo corners; otherwise it is in Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $5,400
