1935 M120 Signed by Hank Greenberg - Vintage Signature!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360
Colorized premium of Hank Greenberg, issued by the Detroit Free Press, signed by Greenberg in black fountain pen (grading "8") near the base. This premium was one in a series of individual Detroit Tiger photos issued by the Detroit Free Press in August 1935. The set was later given the designation "M120" by Jefferson Burdick in the American Card Catalog. This is the first Hank Greenberg signed M120 photo we have ever offered and we cannot recall having seen another example. The photo (9 x 11 inches), printed on semi-glossy magazine-paper stock, displays a number of small edge tears and creases, three tiny corner chips, and a small area of discoloration along the base. Tape remnants and/or tape residue are evident on all four corners. In Good to Very Good condition overall; however, it should be noted that the central image area is generally free of any significant defects and displays as Excellent. This is an exceedingly rare Hank Greenberg signed item, made all the more desirable by the vintage signature example. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $360
