1930 Detroit Tigers Team-Signed Ball with Roger Bresnahan!
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,040
Remarkable high-grade 1930 Detroit Tigers team-signed ball featuring the signature of Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan, who was a coach with the club. Bresnahan died in 1944 and his signature on any ball, be it single-signed or team-signed, is extremely rare. This is one of only a few examples that we can recall even seeing over the past forty years! The official American League (Barnard) ball has been signed in black fountain pen by the following sixteen members of the 1930 Detroit Tigers: Bresnahan (coach, grading "9/10"), Harris (Mgr., sweet spot), Hoyt, Gehringer, Dubuc (coach), Hargrave, Funk, Hogsett, Johnson, Uhle, Koenig, Hayworth, Wyatt, Whitehill, Akers, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from "6" to "10," averaging "8/9." The ball, which dates to the 1929-1931 manufacturing period, remains in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,040
