1914 Brooklyn Robins Team-Signed Ball with Wilbert Robinson, Casey Stengel, and Zack Wheat
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $9,600
Official National League (Tener) ball signed in black fountain pen by the following twenty-three members of the 1914 Brooklyn Robins: Robinson (Mgr.; grading "8"), Wheat, Stengel, Cutshaw (twice), Regan, Schmutz, Reulbach, Hummel, Myers, Rucker, Eberfeld, Miller, Enzmann, Fischer, Atchison, Egan, Pfeffer, Allen, Daubert, Steele, Getz, Dalton, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from "2" to "8," averaging "4/5." This is one of the earliest team balls we have ever seen, not to mention one of the finest with regard to overall condition. This early team ball is remarkable in all respects and an extreme rarity. All of the manufacturer's stampings are bold and well defined, and aside from light toning and a few small spots of discoloration on a side panel, the ball remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $9,600
