1972 Topps Complete Set (787) Including SGC MINT 96 Carlton Fisk Rookie!

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $9,000

66% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint), 24% Ex-Mt, and 10% Ex. Extremely attractive, crisp, and clean complete set consisting of 787 cards from the 1972 Topps series, one of the most popular Topps sets of the decade. Consigned from an old-time collection, this set has been carefully stored away for decades and was very likely assembled directly out of packs in the year of issue. This is a beautiful set with many extremely high grade cards. We have selected five cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #49 Mays (MINT 96), 50 Mays IA (5/95 L/R and T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 79 Fisk RC (MINT 96), 299 Aaron (NM/MT+ 92), 300 Aaron IA (2/98 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 309 Clemente (NM+ 86), 310 Clemente IA (Nr/Mt-Mt), 433 Bench (Nr/Mt), 435 Jackson (Nr/Mt-Mt), 445 Seaver (Nr/Mt-Mt), 550 Robinson (Nr/Mt+), 559 Rose (2/98 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt), 595 Ryan (MINT 96), 695 Carew (5/95 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 751 Carlton (5/95 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 752 Morgan (5/95 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt+), and 754 Robinson (10/90 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt+). Spectacularly clean and crisp high-grade set with the usual number of mostly minor centering problems, which accounts for the downgrades on almost all the cards graded Ex or Ex-Mt. This is a beautifully preserved and simply outstanding high-grade set of one of the great classic Topps sets of the era! The equivalent SMR value for just the five graded cards (factoring in the two half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the 782 ungraded cards!) is $1,973. Total: 787 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500+. SOLD FOR $9,000
