1971 Topps Complete Set (752)
Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,280
70% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt (including some Nr/Mt-Mt) and 30% Ex (with a few lesser, including marked checklists). The cards graded Ex are bright, crisp, and clean, but have centering issues common to the set which cause them to grade more modestly. This is an extremely attractive and overall very high-grade set! It was assembled directly out of packs by our consignor in the year of issue and carefully stored for more than four decades! The black flush-to-the-border design of the 1971 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. We have selected six cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #5 Munson (Ex+), 20 Jackson (Ex-Mt), 26 Blyleven RC (NM+ 86), 100 Rose (EX/NM 80), 160 Seaver (Ex-Mt+), 250 Bench (EX/NM+ 82), 341 Garvey RC (Nr/Mt), 400 Aaron (NM 84), 513 Ryan (NM+ 86), 525 Banks (Ex), 600 Mays (Ex+), 630 Clemente (NM 84), 640 F. Robinson (Ex-Mt), and 709 Baylor/Baker RC (Ex). The equivalent SMR value for just the six graded cards (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the 746 ungraded cards) is $530. Total: 752 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,280
