1969 Topps Near-Complete Set (628/664)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,300

32% Nr/Mt or better, 49% Ex-Mt, and 19% Ex (including a few lesser). Crisp, clean, very sharp-looking near-complete set of 1969 Topps, highlighted by the rookie cards of Oakland A's HOFers Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers, plus the last card of Mickey Mantle. This final card of "The Mick," who retired March 1, 1969, contains his complete statistical record on the reverse. Clemente, Mays, Aaron, Rose, and all the other great stars of the era are also included. This is a very sharp near-complete set consigned from an old-time collection! It was very likely assembled directly from packs in the year of issue and carefully stored for decades. We have selected three cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #20 Banks (miscut, otherwise Nr/Mt), 50 Clemente (Ex-Mt), 100 Aaron (miscut, otherwise Ex), 120 Rose (Nr/Mt), 130 Yastrzemski (Ex-Mt+), 190 Mays (NM 84), 200 Gibson (Nr/Mt), 216 Sutton (Nr/Mt+), 250 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt), 255 Carlton (Ex+), 260 Jackson RC (Ex+), 375 Killebrew (Ex-Mt+), 410 Kaline (Ex+), 440 McCovey (Nr/Mt), 480 Seaver (Ex-Mt), 500 Mantle (NM 84), 510 Carew (Nr/Mt), 533 Ryan (NM 84), 550 B. Robinson (Nr/Mt), 573 Palmer (Ex+), 597 Fingers RC (Ex-Mt), and 630 Bonds RC (Ex-Mt). Missing the following cards for completion: #16, 21, 30, 32, 37, 60, 72, 77, 81, 88, 95 Bench, 97, 105, 106, 161, 164, 196, 394, 438, 453, 481, 537, 564, 589, 604, 605, 610, 612, 616, 622, 632, 634, 648, 650 Williams, 660, and 662. Many of the lesser-graded cards within this set have a higher-grade appearance and have been downgraded solely due to minor centering problems, which are common with the 1969 Topps set. This is a beautiful near-complete set of one of the great 1960s Topps issues, loaded with Hall of Famers. The equivalent SMR value for just the three graded cards is $585. Total: 628 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $3,300
