1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan Rookie

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $3,300

Graded NM+ 86 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is an extraordinary high-grade rookie example of Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan, one of the keys to the 1968 Topps set and one of the most famous of all Topps cards. The 1968 Topps set is prone to many different problems, including centering issues and print quality. This is a particularly exceptional example, with virtually perfect centering, four razor-sharp corners, vibrant colors, and no print dots. The reverse is crisp and clean, with the text slightly out of register, which is all that we can find that may have held this card from a higher grade. The front of this card appears MINT! This is a superb example of one of modern card collecting's great classics and one that would be a worthy addition to any high-grade Hall of Fame or rookie-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $3,300
