1962 Topps PSA-Graded "Green Tint" Collection (58 Different) - 7.71 GPA

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,680

Presented is an extraordinary high-grade collection of fifty-eight different "green tint" variations from the 1962 Topps set, each graded and encapsulated by PSA. Cards #110-196 in the set are found with slight variations in the color of the photos, which can make them present as more green than usual, thus earning these variations the name "green tints." The 1962 Topps set is one of the most popular and classic of all baseball-card sets and has a well-deserved reputation for being the era's most condition-sensitive issue. The flush-to-the-border brown wood-grain design of the 1962 Topps set makes this issue particularly susceptible to edge and corner wear, and makes the assembly of high-grade sets all the more difficult. A total of forty-five NM-MT 8s (two are qualified), one NM+ 7.5, seven NM 7s, one EX-MT+ 6.5, and four EX-MT 6 comprise this grouping for an impressive overall GPA of 7.71. This collection consists of the following: NM-MT 8 (45 cards): #113, 114, 116, 119, 121, 123, 124, 126, 131, 132 (OC, with inset photos), 137 Babe Ruth and Miller Huggins (OC), 140 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, 141 Babe Ruth, 143 Babe Ruth, 146, 147 Kunkel/pitching, 149, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 161, 162, 164, 166, 168, 170 Santo, 171, 172, 175, 177, 178, 179, 180, 181, 183, 184, 187, 188, 191, and 195. NM+ 7.5 (1 card): #186. NM 7 (7 cards): #128, 138 Babe Ruth, 142 Babe Ruth, 173, 185, 189, and 193. EX-MT+ 6.5 (1 card): #139 Babe Ruth. EX-MT 6 (4 cards): #139 Reniff/pitching, 144 Babe Ruth, 150 Kaline, and 165. Each of the cards offered here has survived in outstanding condition and has been carefully selected for its condition by our consignor, who has spent many years building a number of high-quality and ultra complete 1962 Topps sets. This a very substantial collection of green-tint variations, which would represent a tremendous addition to any complete set of 1962 Topps. The total SMR value in the assigned grades (not including the two qualified cards) is $1,633. Total: 58 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,680
