1965 Kahn's Wieners Pete Rose SGC NM/MT 88

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,560

Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC (submitted by REA). Exceptional ultra high-grade example of Pete Rose (Cincinnati Reds) from the 1965 Kahn's Wieners set. This is a striking, colorful, and very scarce 1960s regional issue featuring Rose in the early days of his career. The offered example is remarkably crisp, with a flawless image, brilliant colors, and four sharp corners. Consigned from an old-time collection and purchased in the days before the invention of professional grading, at that time described as Mint. We happen to think it deserves to be called Mint today as well! It appears Mint to our eyes. We think SGC graded this card conservatively, but whether it is graded NM-MT or MINT, it is in exceptionally high grade. Kahn's Weiners cards are far rarer than most 1960s baseball cards, and are one of the few food issues of the era. This is a tremendous example of this very early and striking Pete Rose card. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,560
