Seven 1963 Fleer Complete Sets (464 cards total)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $6,600

Collection of seven complete 66-card 1963 Fleer baseball sets, two of which also include the rare checklist card, for a total of 464 cards. This is a fascinating assembly that has been consigned from a very old-time collection. These sets were very likely assembled directly out of packs in the year of issue and carefully saved for decades. The 1963 Fleer set is considered by many to be among the most attractive and significant issues of the early 1960s. These cards have long been a special favorite of collectors, and with good reason: They are far rarer than Topps issues from the era; they are unusual; they have a great significance to the history of the "bubble-gum card wars"; and the set is relatively small and includes so many great stars from the golden era of the early 1960s. The fact that this set is very challenging to collect in high grade, and has a rare checklist card which is extremely difficult to find, gives this set a mystique and all-the-greater appeal to serious collectors. 1963 Fleer are never going out of style with advanced collectors. This is one of the premier sets of the 1960s. We have selected two cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Set 1) Complete at 67 cards (including checklist) and grades Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt overall, with a few Ex-Mt due to centering.
