1954 Topps Complete Set (250) Including SGC NM 84 Hank Aaron Rookie

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,600

17% Nr/Mt, 37% Ex-Mt, and 46% Ex (with a few lesser). Extremely attractive mid- to high-grade complete set of 1954 Topps. The 1954 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. Issued in the heart of the decade, the 1954 Topps set features the rookie cards of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, among many other Hall of Famers and stars, including two examples of Ted Williams (first and last card in the set), all in brilliant and stunning color. We have selected eight cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (EX 60), 3 Irvin (Vg-Ex+), 10 Robinson (EX 60), 13 Martin (Ex), 17 Rizzuto (Ex-Mt), 20 Spahn (Ex+), 30 Mathews (Ex), 32 Snider (Ex), 36 Wilhelm (Ex), 37 Ford (Ex), 45 Ashburn (Ex-Mt), 50 Berra (Ex), 70 Doby (Ex), 90 Mays (EX+ 70), 94 Banks RC (EX/NM+ 82), 102 Hodges (Ex+), 128 Aaron (NM 84), 132 Lasorda RC (EX+ 70), 201 Kaline (EX 60), 239 Skowron RC (Ex), and 250 Williams (graded "Authentic" due to very slight trim along bottom, EX appearance). This is a very attractive and with few exceptions extremely consistent complete set of this early 1950s classic, with tremendous eye-appeal and exceptional color throughout. Early sets in this grade are especially desirable, and are among the most outstanding and least volatile values in the world of vintage cards. The SMR value for just seven of the graded cards (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the one card graded "Authentic" or the additional 242 ungraded cards!) is $3,730. Total: 250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500++. SOLD FOR $6,600
