1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $10,200

Graded FR 1.5 by PSA. Tremendous modestly graded example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's #311 Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This legendary card has always been one of the great classics of card collecting. The offered example presents as Excellent, with a flawless image, bold colors, strong corners, and centering to the top left. A few small traces of glue residue in each of the four corners, as well as near the top border, are solely responsible for the modest assigned grade. The reverse is perfectly clean. In our estimation, this card has to be among the best-looking "low-grade" 1952 Mantles in existence! The most iconic cards such as the 1952 Topps #311 Mantle always have tremendous interest to collectors in all grades. In fact, while lower-grade examples are naturally more affordable, it is precisely for this reason that lower-grade examples of important cards often have even more collectors interested in them! This card will undoubtedly be of enormous appeal to collectors looking to acquire an exceptionally attractive, yet relatively affordable (compared to higher grades), example of the most popular and desirable postwar card ever produced. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000++. SOLD FOR $10,200
