1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,600
One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's #311 Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This legendary card has always been one of the great classics of card collecting. The offered example is encapsulated GOOD 2 (MK) by PSA due to the faint outline of the name "Bruce" written lightly in pencil in the upper left portion of the card. The most iconic cards such as the 1952 Topps #311 Mantle always have tremendous interest to collectors in all grades. In fact, while lower-grade examples are naturally more affordable, it is precisely for this reason that lower-grade examples of important cards often have even more collectors interested in them! Aside from the writing on front, the card is bright and crisp, centered to the right, with even wear at the corners and only a light crease visible above the nameplate. This card will undoubtedly be of enormous appeal to collectors looking to acquire a relatively affordable example of the most popular and desirable postwar card ever produced. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $6,600
