Complete set of 1953 Canadian Exhibits consisting of sixty-four different cards and highlighted by sixteen Hall of Famers, including Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Stan Musial, and Tom Lasorda (rookie card). The 1953 Canadian Exhibits features both Major Leaguers and players from the Montreal Royals (the Dodgers' minor-league team) of the International League. The cards measure (3-1/4 x 5-1/4 inches), slightly smaller than the standard U.S. Exhibit cards, and have a card number in the corner. The cards are blank-backed. This high-grade near set is exceptionally crisp throughout. Condition of the set is Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt (with just a few slightly lesser, due to corner wear or small stains). Some cards show small slivers of another card along one edge or are cut in a way that the copyright line is only partially visible. Both of these production issues are particularly common with this set, and we have seen grading companies both acknowledge and ignore it when determining a card's grade. In the preceding condition composite, we have not factored this into the grades. Keys: #6 Irvin (Nr/Mt), 11 Doby (slight miscut, otherwise Ex-Mt), 12 Newhouser (Nr/Mt), 13 Hodges (Ex-Mt), 17 Feller (Ex-Mt), 19 Robinson (Ex), 20 Campanella (Nr/Mt), 21 Reese (Ex+), 22 Kiner (Vg), 24 Doerr (Ex), 25 Rizzuto (Ex), 28 J. DiMaggio (Ex), 30 Williams (Nr/Mt), 31 Lemon (Ex-Mt), 32 Spahn (Ex+), 50 Lasorda RC (Nr/Mt), 57 Musial (slight miscut, otherwise Nr/Mt), and 61 Alston (Ex-Mt). Exceptional high-grade set of these scarce and unusual Exhibit Supply Company cards from the 1950s. Total: 64 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.SOLD FOR $2,400
