19th-Century Type-Card Collection (4) Including N175 Gypsy Queen and N566 Newsboy Cabinet

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,680

Small but desirable collection of four different cards from four classic nineteenth-century issues. 1) 1887 N175 Gypsy Queen: Bushong (SGC POOR 10, superb contrast, presents as Vg-Ex, downgraded due to four tiny pinholes and album residue on the blank reverse). 2) 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions: Caruthers (SGC POOR 10, bold colors, crisp image, presents as Vg+, downgraded due to tiny pinhole and pencil marks on reverse). 3) 1888 Scrapps Tobacco Die-Cut: Dunlap (presents as Ex, technically Fr, due to small area of adhesive on reverse). 4) 1895 N566 Newsboy Tobacco Cabinet: Fuller (flawless image, with chipping at three corners and two small numbers written in pencil on the otherwise clean blank reverse). Each card in the offered collection presents extremely well despite its modest assigned grade and would be a worthy addition to any nineteenth-century or type-card collection. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
