1938 R323 Goudey "Heads-Up" #250 Joe DiMaggio

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,400

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA (submitted by REA). Extremely attractive and conservatively graded example of #250 Joe DiMaggio, the key card of the 1938 Goudey "Heads-Up" series. DiMaggio is not just the most valuable card in the set, it also one of the most well-known and popular of all Joe DiMaggio cards, and of all 1930s bubble-gum cards. The card is crisp and clean, both front and back, with bold colors, perfect registration, four square corners with just a hint of wear, and outstanding centering. The reverse is off-white and perfectly clean. Downgraded by PSA due to a tiny, almost imperceptible, wrinkle on the left border. We grade this card EX. This is a very attractive example of one of the key cards from the 1938 Goudey set and one of the most popular cards of the era. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,400
