1917-1920 M101-6 Felix Mendelsohn Dick Rudolph

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360

Rarely offered M101-6 Felix Mendelsohn of Boston Braves pitcher Dick Rudolph graded POOR 1 by ?PSA. The M101-6 set was produced by Chicago publisher Felix Mendelsohn and offered in the pages of The Sporting News over a period of several years (approximately 1917-1920). As can easily be seen, the modest PSA-assigned grade on this particular card does not tell the whole story as it presents much better than suggested by the technically accurate grade. Crisp image, with flawless registration, strong corners, and a clean reverse. Pinholes near the top and bottom edges are responsible for the grade and do not significantly distract from the otherwise VG-EX/EX overall presentation of this card. A very attractive example that would be a worthy addition to any type- or prewar-card collection. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $360
