1916 M101-4 Herpolsheimer #54 Johnny Evers PSA NM 7 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $840

Graded NM 7 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Superb ultra high-grade example of Boston Braves Hall of Famer Johnny Evers from the 1916 Herpolsheimer set. The 1916 Herpolsheimer set is very similar in design to M101-4 and M101-5 Sporting News, but with advertising on the reverse for the "Herpolsheimer Co. – Boy’s Fashion Shop – Grand Rapids – Mich." Bright and crisp, with outstanding centering and four sharp corners showing only light touches of wear at the tips. Herpolsheimer cards have a glossy coated surface which is very susceptible to creasing, but the offered example is flawless. The advertising reverse is entirely clean and boldly printed. This is an exceptional ultra high-grade example, which would be a significant addition to any sample card, Johnny Evers, or prewar Hall of Fame card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
