1911 D359 Williams Baking Harry Davis
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $840
Graded VG/EX+ 55 by SGC (submitted by REA). One of only three examples graded at any level by SGC to date (one higher). Exceptional example of Harry Davis from the extremely rare D359 Williams Baking series. This card features a classic portrait image with the "1910 World's Champions" overprint. D359s are among the rarest of all 1910-era issues. Produced to commemorate the Athletics’ 1910 Championship season, the set exclusively features Athletics, including manager Connie Mack. The very same images were used for similar sets issued by Rochester Baking and T208 Cullivan's Fireside Tobacco. The offered card is bright and crisp, with outstanding centering and even wear to the corners. The Williams Baking advertisement on back is boldly printed and clean. An outstanding sample card from this rare bakery-card issue. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $840
