1909-1911 T206 White Border Vic Willis with Bat - Extremely Rare Drum Back!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,900

Extremely attractive example of Hall of Fame pitcher Vic Willis (with bat) from the T206 White Border series featuring a Drum advertising reverse. According to T206Resource.com, Drum backs are the fifth most difficult to find advertising reverse within the T206 set (out of thirty-nine). All Drum backs are very rare, but an example featuring a Hall of Famer is especially notable. The card is graded FR 1.5 (MK) by PSA and exhibits several condition flaws, which contribute to its modest assigned grade. It does, however, display a crisp image with bold colors and outstanding centering. The important Drum advertisement on the reverse is boldly printed. This is a very desirable Hall of Fame example (one of the few among the small number of subjects even issued with this back) featuring the extremely rare Drum advertising back. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
