1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC-Graded Collection (6) - All Extremely Tough Piedmont 350 Subjects Including Doyle and Lundgren!

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $3,300

Presented is a fascinating collection of six different cards from the legendary T206 White Border set, each featuring a Piedmont 350 reverse. While Piedmont is considered one of the two most common advertising backs found within this set, there are several subjects who appear predominantly in the Piedmont 150 series and are very rarely encountered with a Piedmont 350 back. Although exact numbers can never be known, it is estimated that each of these subjects is approximately 50-100 times rarer in the Piedmont 350 series compared to the earlier 150 series printing. This disparity can be explained by an examination of these subjects' careers, which shows that they were almost all traded, demoted, or out of baseball entirely by 1910, when the 350 series was printed. Each of the six cards offered here are graded and encapsulated by SGC. This collection consists of the following: Doyle/N.Y. hands above head (FAIR 20), Ganley (POOR 10), Karger (VG 40), Lindaman (GOOD 30), Lundgren/Chicago (FAIR 20), and Mullin (EX 60). Each card features bright colors and crisp images along with boldly printed (and mostly clean) Piedmont reverses. This is an extremely desirable collection of these tough Piedmont 350 subjects, which will no doubt be of special interest to T206 scholars and advanced T206 front-back combination set collectors. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $3,300
