1909-1911 T206 White Border Jerry Downs - Extremely Rare Drum Back - The ONLY Graded Example!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $6,600

Jerry Downs (Minneapolis) from the classic T206 set featuring a very rare Drum advertising back. Graded PR 1 by PSA (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example ever graded, at any level, by either PSA or SGC! (PSA only started designating advertising backs within the past few years, so it is theoretically possible that another example with a Drum back shows as unclassified in its Population Report, but we would have no way of knowing.) According to, Drum backs are the fifth most difficult to find advertising reverse within the T206 set (out of thirty-nine). Bright and crisp with brilliant colors, excellent centering, and even rounding to the four corners. Several creases account for the technical grade but do not detract from the card's overall display value. The Drum advertisement on the reverse is perfectly clean. This is an ideal sample of this incredible back rarity which would make an outstanding addition to even the most advanced collection. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $6,600
