1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders PSA-Graded Hall of Fame Collection (3) Including Cobb and Mathewson

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,080

Presented is an extremely attractive trio of key Hall of Famers from the T201 Mecca Double Folders set. T201 Double Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive of all tobacco-card issues. The thin stock on which they are printed makes them especially susceptible to soft corners as well as to very slight wrinkles, creases, and edge wear. These cards were designed to be played with, folded up and down, so it is not surprising that normal handling would result in few truly high-grade examples surviving. This collection consists of the following: Sam Crawford/Ty Cobb (PSA VG-EX 4), Christy Mathewson/Al Bridwell (PSA EX 5), and Tris Speaker/Earl Gardner (PSA EX 5). Each of the cards is crisp and clean, with only light touches of wear at the corners responsible for the assigned grades. Three magnificent examples that would be worthy additions to any T201, Hall of Fame, or classic prewar-card collection. SMR value for the assigned grades is $1,150. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++. SOLD FOR $1,080
