Early 1990s Mike Cubbage New York Mets Warmup Jacket
Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $120
Mike Cubbage New York Mets blue warmup jacket dating from the early 1990s. The zipper-front jacket features the club's "NY" logo on the left breast and the name "Cubbage" on the reverse. Cubbage's uniform number, "4," appears on the right sleeve, while the familiar Mets team patch adorns the left sleeve. A "Starter" label is located in the collar. The jacket (size "L"), which is original as issued, with no alterations, displays light use. Although this jacket has no year designation, it can be conclusively dated to Cubbage's 1990-1994 coaching tenure with the club because of the number designation. Cubbage wore number "3" during his only season with the Mets as a player in 1981, but was issued number "4" during each of his five seasons as a coach in the 1990s. Our consignor purchased this jacket in the mid-to-late 1990s directly from the Mets Clubhouse Store, which often sold game-used items, including helmets, cracked bats, pants, jackets, and, occasionally, a few jerseys (usually those of common players). It has remained in his collection since that time. Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $120
