1932 New York Yankees World Series Ticket Stub and Babe Ruth News Photo

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $300

Ticket stub for Game 1 of the 1932 World Series between the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, held at Yankee Stadium on September 28th. The ticket, issued for a "General Admission - Upper Grandstand" seat, displays a rough tear along the bottom border, as well as a small diagonal crease in the lower left corner. In Very Good condition overall. The ticket is accompanied by latter-day UPI news photo (10 x 8 inches) of Babe Ruth at bat during the 1932 World Series. A handwritten notation on the reverse, written in pencil, reads "631374 Yankees-Cub 1932 1st game World Series." Despite that notation, the UPI stamping on the reverse is one that was used by the company from 1958 through the early 1970s. The photo displays areas of moderate toning in the upper and lower right corners, and is otherwise in Excellent condition. Total: 2 items (ticket stub and photo). Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $300
