Famous Baseball Announcers Single-Signed Ball Collection (11)

Collection of eleven single-signed balls, each featuring the autograph of a different baseball announcer. All of the announcers represented here are recipients of the Ford Frick Award and as such, are recognized in the "Scribes & Mikemen" exhibit in the Library of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Unless otherwise noted, all of the balls are either official American or National League balls (dating from the 1980s or 1990s) and have been signed (in a variety of inks) across the sweet spot, with the signatures grading "9" or "10." The announcers represented here are Vin Scully (grading "8"), Joe Garagiola (grading "6," on an OAL [Cronin] ball), Curt Gowdy, Ernie Harwell (grading "4/5"), Harry Caray (on a side panel), Jack Brickhouse (personalized "To John"), Mel Allen (personalized "To John"), Jack Buck, Bob Murphy, Chuck Thompson, and Milo Hamilton. (Interesting note: The "John" to whom two are personalized is the longtime collector who is our consignor!) All of the balls display varying degrees of age toning and/or discoloration.
