This unusual collection of fifty-nine autographed balls represents the balance of our consignor’s vast signed-ball collection (assembled over many decades) and is comprised mainly of single-signed balls. It should be noted that the large majority of the balls in this lot are “off condition” examples that display heavy toning and/or soiling. Balls range in grade from Poor to Very Good, averaging Good. The signatures, penned in a variety of inks, range from “2” to “10,” averaging “7/8.”
Single-Signed Balls (45). Unless otherwise noted, all of the signatures appear on the sweet spot. Miscellaneous Multi-Signed Balls (9). Includes a ball signed by four former members of the Rockford Peaches; a 1939 “Rogell’s Red Raiders” team-signed ball, including the signatures of Harry Heilman, Bill Rogell, and Barney McCoskey?; a 1979 St. Louis Cardinals team-signed ball, including Lou Brock, Keith Hernandez, Red Schoendienst, Ken Boyer, Gary Templeton, and Pete Vuckovich; and a ball signed by Rico Carty, Manny Sanguillen, and one other (illegible).
