1930 Philadelphia Athletics World Champions Team-Signed Ball
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $300
Official American League (Barnard) ball signed in black fountain pen by fourteen members of the 1930 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics, including Foxx (grading "1," barely visible), Grove (sweet spot), Collins, Bishop, Williams, Quinn (sweet spot), Boley, Moore, Miller, Earnshaw, and three others, all of which, along with the Foxx signature, are on a panel with heavy abrasions that have rendered them illegible. With the exception of the Foxx and the three illegible signatures, the remainder are fairly uniform in grade, averaging "5/6." Two opposite side panels and the ball label display heavy abrasions, with smaller abrasions evident on the remaining panels as well. In Fair to Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $300
