Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. Only two examples grade higher out of 153 cards evaluated to date by SGC. Spectacular ultra high-grade example of 1940 Play Ball #27 Ted Williams! Clean and crisp both front and back, four sharp corners, and no print marks. Beautiful off-white color and outstanding centering. Ted's biography on the back of this card was nothing less than effusive about his prospects for future greatness. The text details his amazing rookie feats the previous season, which included batting .327, collecting 31 home runs, scoring 131 runs on 185 hits, and being the first rookie ever to lead the Majors in RBIs with 145.
