1914 E145 Cracker Jack PSA- and SGC-Graded Federal Leaguers Collection (12)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,000
Collection of twelve different 1914 Cracker Jacks, featuring exclusively Federal League players, all professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (eight) or SGC (four). The 1914 Cracker Jack set is one of the very few card sets of the era to include players from the short-lived Federal League. A total of forty-three different Federal League ball players are represented in the set. The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems, including caramel staining. This lot consists of the following: #1 Knabe (PSA PR 1, Baltimore), 11 Stovall (PSA GOOD 2, Kansas City), 24 Mullen (PSA GOOD+ 2.5, Indianapolis), 25 Simon (PSA GOOD 2, St. Louis), 46 Groom (PSA VG 3, St. Louis), 83 Ford (SGC FAIR 20, Buffalo), 84 Knetzer (SGC FAIR 20, Pittsburgh), 113 Suggs (PSA VG-EX 4 [MK], Baltimore), 116 Zeider (PSA PR 1, Chicago), 119 Perring (PSA GOOD 2, Kansas City), 128 Evans (SGC FAIR 20, Brooklyn), and 137 Rariden (SGC FAIR 20, Indianapolis). All twelve cards display with bright colors and crisp images. They are downgraded due to a variety of small flaws common to the thin-stock Cracker Jack cards. This is an outstanding collection of twelve different Federal Leaguers from the extremely popular 1914 Cracker Jack series. Total: 12 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,000
