Circa 1930s Babe Ruth Single-Signed Ball - Full JSA and PSA/DNA LOAs

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $22,800

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed by Babe Ruth across the sweet spot. Ruth's signature has been scripted in black fountain pen and grades a solid "8." This ball dates to the 1934-1939 manufacturing period, which allows for the possibility that it was signed by Ruth during his playing career (Ruth retired in 1935). Regardless of the precise actual date of its signing, this is an extremely outstanding high-grade example of the most desirable single-signed ball in the hobby. The ball displays only light soiling in the area of the ball label and is in Excellent condition overall, with the sweet-spot panel remaining exceptionally clean and bright. This ball was one of the cornerstone pieces of our consignor's world-class 500 Home Run Club single-signed ball collection. All of the balls from that collection, including extraordinary examples for both Jimmie Foxx and Mel Ott, are featured in this auction as well. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA and full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $5,000. Estimate (open).
