1946 The Three Stooges Beer Barrel Polecats Lobby Card

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $840

Lobby card from the 1946 Three Stooges short Beer Barrel Polecats, the group's first film of 1946. Set in the age of prohibition, the Stooges take to making their own beer, which ultimately gets them sent to prison, yet again. Curly was still suffering the effects of a minor stroke at this time, so the director used footage of Curly from previous films to compensate. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from restoration in repair of tack holes, edge tears, and a corner chip in the upper right. Airbrushing is evident along the border areas. Excellent to Mint in appearance. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500+. SOLD FOR $840
