1937 The Three Stooges Cash and Carry Lobby Card
Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $4,800
Lobby card to the 1937 Three Stooges short Cash and Carry. This is an exceedingly rare Stooges lobby card and one of only three cards from the film we have ever seen (the title lobby card realized $5,036 in our April 2014 auction). Cash and Carry, the Stooges' twenty-fifth short for Columbia, involved the boys trying to raise money for an operation for a crippled child. Unfortunately, their efforts at finding buried treasure end up with them digging into the United States Treasury. The card (14 x 11 inches) displays two tacks holes (one each in the upper left and right corners), a small area of adhesive residue on the top and right border, a few tiny tears along the top right border, and minor edge and corner wear. A small piece of brown tape is affixed to the reverse top border, but it does not appear to be in repair of any tear. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Reserve $2,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $4,800
