1919 Jess Willard vs. Jack Dempsey Full Ticket - PSA EX 5

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $300

Full ticket to the historic heavyweight championship fight between challenger Jack Dempsey and Jess Willard at Bay View Park in Toledo, Ohio, on July 4, 1919. Encapsulated and graded "EX 5" by PSA. Over 45,000 fans braved the sweltering 110-degree heat that day to witness Dempsey upset the heavily favored Willard to win the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship. The "Manassa Mauler" was savage in his beating of Willard, knocking him down seven times in the first round alone, before Willard wisely chose not to answer the bell for the fourth round. After his defeat of Willard, Dempsey quickly became one of the most famous sports idols of the "Roaring Twenties" and held the title until 1926. The ticket (6.75 x 2.5 inches) displays just light handling wear, including a tiny stain along the bottom right corner. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $300
