1908 T226 Red Sun Boxers SGC-Graded Collection (7)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,560
Collection of seven extremely rare 1908 T226 Red Sun Pugilistic Subjects cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (except for one PSA). This collection consists of the following: Gardner (EX/NM 80), Keyes (EX/NM 80), Murphy (PSA EX 5), O'Brien (VG/EX 50), M. Sullivan (EX/NM 80), Walsh (EX/NM 80), and Willette (EX/NM 80). This is an impressive group of these rare cards, in much better condition than normally encountered. The five EX/NM 80s are each the only examples graded at that level with none higher, while the one PSA EX 5 is one of two at that level with none higher. Compared to baseball cards of the era, these early boxing cards (which are among the rarest of all early boxing cards) represent a particularly outstanding value. This is a tremendous collection of these rare and desirable cards in very high grade and would be an outstanding addition to any boxing-card collection. Total: 7 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,560
