1963 Topps Football Five-Cent Wax Pack Collection (12 packs/One-Half Complete Box) - All PSA Graded!
Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $10,800
Tremendous collection of twelve original five-cent wax packs from the 1963 Topps football set, each graded and encapsulated by PSA. The colorful 1963 Topps football set is very popular among collectors and features all the stars of the era, including rookie cards of Hall of Famers Deacon Jones, Bob Lilly, and Ray Nitschke, and stars such as Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Mike Ditka, Bart Starr, and Fran Tarkenton. Unopened material from this set, as well as other early 1960s issues, is extremely rare. The twelve packs offered here represent exactly half of a complete box as issued by Topps in 1963. For reference, a complete unopened wax box consisting of all twenty-four packs sold for $32,588 in REA's Spring 2014 auction (lot #1455). Six packs grade NM 7 and six packs grade EX-MT 6. Each is bright and crisp. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within these packs are Gem Mint cards. This collection of twelve packs would make an incredible addition to even the most advanced football or unopened wax-pack collection. Total: 12 packs. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+.
