1920s to 1990s Cuban Baseball Pin and Badge Items Collection (100)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,040
Collection of 100 scarce Cuban baseball pins, badge items, and pennants, including a few duplicates, ranging in date from the 1920s to the 1990s (the vast majority appear to be from the 1940s and 1950s). Nearly all of the items are team pins, including those for the Sugar Kings, Cienfuegos, Almendares, and Azucareros. The overwhelming majority of the pins measure one inch in diameter or slightly smaller. Two of the larger pins date from the historic 1999 two-game series between the Baltimore Orioles and Cuban National Team. That series marked the first time an American club played in Cuba since 1959. Condition ranges from Vg to Nr-Mt, averaging Ex. All of the pieces in this collection can be viewed on our website. Total: 100 items. From the personal collection of Dr. Paul Muchinsky, legendary pioneer collector and author of Baseball Pinback Buttons: A Photographically Illustrated Compendium and Price Guide. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,040
