Circa 1910-1913 Philadelphia Athletics Pennant

Extremely rare Philadelphia Athletics pennant dating from the era of the club's 1910 and 1913 World Championships. The blue-felt pennant features a colorful illustration of the club's white-elephant mascot above a design incorporating two crossed bats, a glove, and a ball. The white lettering to the right reads "Athletics World's Champions." This is the first example of this extraordinary pennant we have ever offered and we can only recall having seen one other at auction during the past ten years! The pennant (23 inches in length) displays areas of fading as well as tack holes at the tip and each corner. In Very Good condition overall.   Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,920
