1885 New York Giants (vs. Philadelphia) National League Scorecard with Connor, Ewing, Keefe, O'Rourke, and Ward

Fold-over scorecard issued for a National League game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Quakers at the Polo Grounds in 1885. The preprinted lineups include O'Rourke, Connor, Ewing, Keefe, Ward, Dorgan, and Easterbrook for New York, and Ferguson, Mulvey, Manning, Farrar, and Cusick for Philadelphia. Neatly scored in pencil to record a 4-2 Giants victory. Research indicates that this game took place on Monday, August 17th, and marked the first of six consecutive games between the two clubs (four at New York and two at Philadelphia). The year, "1885," is printed on the front cover, while the back cover announces the upcoming baseball games at the Polo Grounds for the week, including two American Association games between the Metropolitans and the Athletics. The scorecard (7.25 x 5.75 inches; unfolded) displays an area of discoloration in the center. In Very Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $600
