Ted Williams and Billy Terry Multisigned Autograph Collection - Last Two Men to Hit .400!

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $600

Collection of single-signed and dual-signed items commemorating the last two players to hit over .400 in a season: Bill Terry and Ted Williams. During the modern era, only eight players have ever recorded a single-season average of .400 or better, and given the fact that it has been seventy-four years since Williams last did it in 1941, that number may never change. It is important to note that each of the signatures featured here was obtained by our consignor in person at various signing shows in the 1980s. 1) Official National League (Giamatti) ball signed in blue ink (grading "10") on the sweet spot by Ted Williams and Bill Terry. The ball displays a few scattered areas of light age toning; otherwise in Near Mint condition. 2) Framed display comprised of the following three items: a) Black-and-white photo (7.5 x 9.5 inches) of Bill Terry, signed by Terry in blue fine-point Sharpie ("10") along the bottom border. b) Limited-edition Ron Lewis print (9.5 x 7.5 inches) of Terry and Williams, signed by each player in blue Sharpie (Williams grades "10," Terry grades "8/9"). Also signed and numbered ("28/131") by Lewis along the base. c) Black-and-white photo (7.5 x 9.5 inches) of Ted Williams (not signed). All of the photos and prints are in apparent Near Mint condition and have been matted and framed together to total dimensions of 34 x 16 inches. LOA from James Spence/JSA.  Reserve $200.
