Joe DiMaggio Autograph Collection Including Signed Glove (11)
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,920
Collection of eleven different items, each signed by Joe DiMaggio, including one also signed by Ted Williams. Unless otherwise noted, all of the signatures have been scripted in blue Sharpie on the front of the item and grade "10." 1) Circa 1940s Vince DiMaggio store-model right-handed fielder's glove manufactured by "Hutch" of Cincinnati, Ohio. DiMaggio's last name is stamped on the front along the pinky finger, below which is the name of the manufacturer. (Despite the last-name only, it was Vince DiMaggio, Joe's brother, who had an endorsement deal with Hutch. Perhaps the company purposely left Vince's first name off in the hopes that most consumers would simply assume it was a "Joe DiMaggio" endorsed glove. This is pure speculation, but an interesting thought!) DiMaggio has signed the glove "J. DiMaggio" (grading "8") in the area of the pocket extending onto the pinky finger. 2) Spring 1950 Street & Smith's magazine (Sports Baseball Issue). The cover pictures DiMaggio and Williams. Signed by both. 8.5 x 11 inches. Fr, with detached covers, staining, and tears. 3) May 1949 Sports World magazine. DiMaggio pictured on cover. 8.5 x 11 inches.
