Autographed 1957 Topps #407 Yankees' Power Hitters - Mantle and Berra

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200

Signed example of one of the most classic double-player cards ever issued, card #407 Yankees' Power Hitters, featuring Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra in their prime. Both players have signed the card atop their respective image, with Mantle signing in blue ink (grading "10") and Berra in blue marker ("8"). This is one of the most popular cards of the 1950s. Though it needs no extra credentials, the fact that this is also the last card in the 1957 Topps set makes it considerably more difficult than most cards in the set to find in high grade. This is just the second signed example of this card that we have ever offered and we can only recall having seen one or two others at auction during the past ten years. The card, which is off-center left to right, displays a diagonal crease in the upper right corner (running through Berra's face) as well as general handling wear. Technically in Good condition overall, but still a very presentable card with strong eye-appeal. LOA from James Spence/JSA.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,200
