This 1956 New York Yankees team-signed ball features a remarkable thirty-eight signatures, including that of owner Dan Topping, and is one of the most complete 1950s-era Yankees team balls we have ever seen. The thirty-eight blue-ink signatures appearing on this official American League (Harridge) ball are those of Mantle (sweet spot), Berra, Rizzuto, Ford, Dickey (coach), Slaughter, Skowron, Martin, McDougald, Carey, Bauer, Howard, Collins, J. Coleman, Siebern, Cerv, Hunter, Carroll, Noren (twice), Robinson, Lumpe, Silvera, Richardson (sweet spot), Kucks, Sturdivant, Larsen, Turley (on ball label), Byrne, Morgan, McDermott, Terry, Konstanty, Staley, Coates, Turner (coach), Topping (team owner), and Mel Allen (announcer). Signatures range from "6" to "10," averaging "8." It should be noted that the signatures of Terry, Siebern, Turley, and Coates are bolder and in a different shade of ink, indicating that they may have been added at later date. The ball displays light toning and is in Excellent condition overall. This is an exceptional New York Yankees team-signed ball dating from Mantle's historic Triple-Crown and MVP season.
