Autographed 1952 Topps Collection of Rarities (16) - All PSA/DNA Encapsulated!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $9,600

Presented is a collection of sixteen different autographed cards from the 1952 Topps set. Each of the cards is graded and encapsulated by PSA (all in red labels with the card, not the signature, graded). This is a particularly noteworthy group of cards as each of the cards is especially difficult to find signed. Eleven of the sixteen players died prior to 1980, including two (Hutchinson and Kinder) who died in 1964 and 1968, respectively, before collecting signed sets was in fashion. 1952 Topps is the ultimate postwar baseball-card set. A completely autographed set is unheard of, but if ever assembled would certainly be considered by many as the ultimate autographed postwar baseball-card set. This collection consists of the following: #9 Hogue (black back, GOOD 2 [MK]), 28 Priddy (black back, GOOD 2), 48 Page (black back, VG 3 [MK]), 50 Rickert (black back, EX 5, deceased 1978), 51 Russell (red back, VG-EX 4), 78 Kinder (red back, EX 5, deceased 1968), 80 Wehmeier (black back, GOOD 2, deceased 1973), 102 Kennedy (VG-EX 4), 126 Hutchinson (VG 3, deceased 1964), 130 Jones (GOOD 2 [MK], 132 Kluttz (VG-EX 4, deceased 1979), 155 Overmire (GOOD 2 [MK], deceased 1977), 158 Waitkus (VG 3 [MC], deceased 1972), 175 Martin RC (VG-EX 4), 207 Harris (Authentic, deceased 1971), and 224 Edwards (PR 1, deceased 1975). Each card is signed on front (signatures range in grade from "3" to "8", averaging "6/7") in either blue or black ballpoint pen. The signature of Harris is covered in vintage tape to preserve the signature. This is a very attractive collection of signed rarities from the 1952 Topps set, one of card collecting's great classics. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Total: 16 cards.  Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++. SOLD FOR $9,600
