1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $19,200

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Presented is an extremely attractive example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. The colors on this example are bold, and the registration is flawless. The blue background shows some very tiny hints of surface wear to the right of Mantle's cap. The card is free of any creases or wrinkles and displays light, even wear to the corners. Centered to the right. Clean reverse. The 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle has long been universally recognized as one of most iconic "blue chips" of all vintage baseball cards, and even just a glance at sales records clearly shows that over the years it has consistently risen in value in all grades. This is an outstanding example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card in an extremely desirable grade.  Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $19,200
